Calling all foodies! Naples is an exciting city that’s not touristy. As big as it is, it can be challenging to find its fantastic eateries without a guide. Join us for a food trek around the city. We’ll stop in delis and restaurants and visit historic sites and points of interest as we walk along.
You’ll enjoy Eggplant Parmigiana and zucchini flowers and see Spaccanapoli, historic Naples’ main street, and the Piazza del Gesù. Spaghetti, pizza, Babà and Sfogliatelle are some of the tasty foods that have their origins in this fascinating city. Together we’ll tour the religious complex of Santa Chiara and the famous Piazza Bellini, where we will taste the Pizza Margherita that traces its origins to King Umberto I and Queen Margherita’s 1889 visit to the city.
The Naples Food Tour includes the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella, Piazza San Gaetano and the Basilicas of Saint Paul and Saint Lawrence. We’ll walk the lively streets of San Gregorio Armeno where we’ll see artists’ shops and some of the world’s finest Nativity figures. Continuing on the San Biagio dei Librai, we’ll have more sumptuous opportunities to try specialties like Baccalà, Fiarielli, soups, Ragù and Aglianico wine.
We’ll conclude our tour in Piazza Plebiscito, the grandest monumental square in all of Naples. Here we’ll find the famous San Carlo Theatre, Galleria Umberto and the Royal Palace. At tucked away shops surrounding the square we’ll sample local cakes, coffees and liqueurs.
You enjoy your lunch or dinner on our tour, depending upon the time of day, so bring your appetite! This is a great way to enjoy authentic Neapolitan cuisine, and the tour suits the day-tripper as well as the overnight guest to the beautiful old city of Naples.
